Happy Thursday lovelies!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! If you follow me on Instagram (@BeyoutifulStephanie) then you may have seen these jeans on some serious repeat! #Sorrynotsorry. I don't know about y'all but it is literally a struggle for me to find a great pair of jeans, that fit in all the right places. I recently purchased THESE and I am absolutely in love! FYI I am usually a size 27 in jeans but I found the 27 to be a little big as these are a jegging like material, so I suggest maybe trying both your 'normal' size as well as a size smaller. I wanted to give y'all different looks that can be put together with a single pair of jeans. The best part about jeans is they go with EVERYTHING! Now that fall has arrived I probably be living in sweaters, jeans or leggings and over the knee boots. (P.S Sorry for the poor quality pictures. I'm working on learning all about lighting and how to set my camera to proper settings, but it's so confusing!! Sooo not a tech savvy gal!)

Thanks for stopping by!

Fall Shoe Shopping

Shop These Shoes- 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9.
First things first happy Friday lovelies!!! Now that's out of the way; happy second day of fall!! Summer might be my favourite season when it comes to weather, but fall is by far my favourite season for fashion outfits. I find it's when you can get the most use out of your wardrobe, combining both summer and fall pieces. One of the reasons I love fall for fashion is the colours. I am naturally drawn to the darker neutral colours, and recently super addicted to the burgundy and bordeaux colour (both are very similar). I have put together a collage of my shoe wish list for fall. Some of these can also be transitioned into winter which is great #winning!
Thanks for reading & have a great weekend!

Stop Over-Apologizing (Is it really a Canadian thing?!)

I like to consider myself a pretty accommodating person. Maybe even too accommodating (just ask my close friends and family) The upside is I’m fairly flexible. I don't mind going out of my way for people, I can easily admit when I'm in the wrong, and I can usually make everyone in the room comfortable because I'm a very easy going and non-judgemental person (so I've been told). But like most things there are a ton of downsides. I tend to constantly apologize or blame myself for things that aren’t even my fault. If you are thinking to yourself  "yup, sounds like me" well then let me welcome you to my club of Overly Apologetic People. Please do take a seat and grab a name tag..

Just yesterday after finishing up a workout I was leaving the gym and some random guy holding his bag like three feet away from him (as if he was allergic to gym bags) banged his bag right into me and my water bottle that just so happened to be open (of course) went flying. Naturally my first reaction? "OMG I'm so sorry" I mean maybe this was my fault (and there you have it ladies and gents; first offence in this blog post, here I am again justifying why this could have been completely my fault) But perhaps it was completely and unintentional his fault. You think that's bad? Wait until you hear my next story... Once upon a million years ago I found out someone who I was in a long term relationship with had cheated on me (OUCH!) Long story short I remember at one point (after the anger had settled) I actually apologized and blamed myself for his actions. Even though when I asked why he did it, his reasoning was literally the most pathetic reason given to cheat on someone (not that any reason is a good one to justify those actions). Like most things 'there is a time and a place' and I think that apologizing in certain situations falls under that statement. So how exactly do we break this (bad?) habit?

Well here's a start:

Start an apologies log: Make a conscious effort to keep track of how much you are apologizing in a day. I swear I did this and I must have said "sorry" about 20 times! (Okay so operation "stop apologizing" might take me longer than I initially thought #sorrynotsorry)

Ask yourself: "did I actually do something wrong?" I find if you even have to ask yourself this question chances are you didn't. When you do something wrong you usually know right away and there is no need to ask yourself the question (Think about it? Have you ever done something consciously wrong that you know is wrong and have had to ask yourself if you did something wrong?)

More 'real' less 'fake': It's like the word 'love' that gets thrown around for well pretty much anything and I find the word has become less meaningful. Use the word 'sorry' when you actually mean it and not because you feel you have nothing else to say. With that being said sincere apologies are often needed and I find it’s super humbling and powerful to know when to admit when you are wrong. The less we’re throwing fake ones into the mix, the more powerful our true apologies will be.

I got one question...Is it really just the Canadian in me?!!?

Thanks for reading,

The Epiphany + The power of Girl Talk

SHOP THIS LOOK: TOP, JEGGINGS (SIMILAR), SHOES (SIMILAR), HAT, SUNGLASSES (SIMILAR), CROSS OVER BAG (SIMILAR), KINSLEY ARMELLE BRACELET (USE CODE BEYOUTIFULSTEPH15OFF FOR DISCOUNT), WATCH

The ultimate walk (or should I say write) of shame...I know, I know, its been a while but I have a (kinda?) valid reason... I was suffering from blogger's block. It's pretty much writers block, but for bloggers...Seriously it's a real thing! If you have been following me for a while then you know I'm all about being real and I hate blogging when I feel I'm forcing it because I find it comes across as fake. Any who enough of me trying to justify my reasoning for being M.I.A...

Over the last few days I had a bit of an epiphany. You know one of those moments that you experience a sudden and striking realization? No, never happen to you? Well let me tell you one day it will.

It all started when I was venting to my mom and girlfriend...So lets be honest and have some #RealTalk, dating is just down right horrible...okay, okay maybe not horrible HOWEVER some experiences aren't always the greatest. Whether your relationship lasted short term or long term, putting yourself out there is rough and when things don't work out it can sting.

The recovery process includes four vital things that help any girl cope:

1. Chocolate (lots and lots of it)
2. A romantic comedy marathon (which includes a box of tissues for us emotional ones like myself)
3. Great breakup songs (Hello Taylor Swift)
4. Lots of girl talk with your best friends or mom in my case (Heavy emphasis on the GIRL TALK)

Friends (or mothers) are often filled with all kinds of love related advice from passing along tips, discussing all the reasons why it didn't work out, and letting you vent. I find girl talk to be pretty much like therapy, no? I think having even just that one girl friend (or multiple) to talk to is a necessity in ones life! Like seriously it's mandatory and if you don't have one then honey you need to find one! (mom, sister, even if it's a guy friend) Find someone you can talk to (is there an app for that? Probably)Having someone that you can talk to about anything is not only great for relationship stuff but also other things in life. Knowing you can say or do whatever and not be judged is simply AMAZING! In honour of this post how about taking the time today to just shoot that friend(s) a quick message saying how grateful you are to have them in your life; because girl, you know without them you don't know what you would do!

Thanks for reading!

Welcoming September- Bye Summer & Hello Fall

SHOP THIS LOOK: DRESS, SHOES, BAG (SIMILAR), SUNGLASSES (SIMILAR)

Hey guys! Is it just me or was August a complete blur?! Seriously why does time fly faster as you get older? We have been super lucky here in Toronto with the great weather we have had and I am sad that summer is slowly coming to an end. The days are getting shorter and slightly cooler. However if there is one season I love in regards to fashion, its Fall! I love the colours and the layering without too much layering and I find fall outfits to be the easiest to put together. Be ready for an overload of fall fashion ideas for the next little while. Have a great day!

As many of us know life has it's ups and downs; maybe you’re having a bad moment, or bad day, or even a bad week…

Sometimes I find myself in a desperate need of a good pep talk. Yes, pep talks from other people are great but I think the most important thing to do during tough times/moments, is to give yourself your own pep talk. It can be easy to get discouraged and to talk negatively to yourself but that’s why it's important to know how to have your own back when tough moments or events strike. I have a few things I like to do to help pick me back up and get back into a positive mind set. The first thing I like to do is set aside some quiet time to clear my head. Whether that means hitting the gym, or going for a walk or drive alone. I also try to remember to be kind to myself and not so hard on myself. I know many people feel like there's always a constant pressure to be the best and on top of it all, but the truth is we are all human which means we aren't perfect. We all have to remember to give ourselves moments where we can be pampered and relax a bit, so I try to take a day off every week to enjoy something I like doing. And of course the last thing I like to do is give myself a little bit of a positive pep talk. I remind myself that this is life and like I mentioned life has its up and downs but at the end of the day things always workout the way they should. I remind myself everything I’ve been through and how it’s only made me stronger as a person!

I think there's a lot of power in positive words and being thankful for the good things in life instead of always speaking negatively and searching for something better.

Have a great day!

Must Have: Transparent Detail Lace Top

Shop this top HERE

Hey lovelies! Happy Thursday :) Just thought I'd do a quick post on this beautiful lace top I picked up the other day from Zara. I have been eyeing this top for over a week...I finally broke and purchased it. I love everything about it, the colour (maroon) is perfect for transitioning into fall and still okay to wear right now especially because soon the mornings and nights are going to get a little cooler. If you haven't noticed lace is huge right now and becoming more popular for fall and winter looks. This top does fit a little big so I suggest buying one size smaller. I've put the link where you can purchase under the picture above! I've also link other lace tops from Zara's that I am absolutely in love with and that are on my wish list!

Honey, It's Time To Declutter...

Spending the weeekend with this cutiepie and the rest of my family by the pool.
I find the older I get the more I am realizing what and more specifically who is most important to me in life. I'm the type of person that will go out of my way for pretty much anyone, not because I feel I have to but because I love helping people. Some have told me that I have the 'Mother Theresa syndrome' meaning I try to help everyone I can and I try to fix everyone's problems. In doing this my own happiness takes a little bit of a back seat and I don't necessarily do what’s best for me. I also think that my focus tends to sway away from those who actually deserve it, and instead is given to those who don't necessarily deserve it. I guess what I'm trying to get at in this post, is that sometimes you need to take a step back and look at the big picture and analyze if who and what you are focusing on is actually beneficial for you. I find taking the time to break it down really helps in doing this. Over the past month I have really taken the time to think about it, I like to call it 'decluttering my life'. By decluttering I don't mean spring cleaning (unless this helps you then go for it!)…What I mean is removing the relationships from your life that regularly drag you down or damage you and focus more on those healthy relationships by keeping in touch with those people. What I really found was in order to declutter relationships, I had to put full closure to the relationships that are no longer in my life. It's such a breath of fresh air knowing that I've managed to do this, as hard as it is!

Is it time for you to 'declutter'?

Business Attire

SHOP THIS LOOK: Nude Tank (I have these in like every colour!), Blazer (Similar), Pencil Skirt (also somes in a pretty pink colour), Shoes (on sale $26.99), Kinsley Armelle Bracelet ONE|TWO Both on sale for under $20!!! (Use PROMO code BEYOUTIFULSTEPH15OFF for an extra discount), Cross bag (Currently my favourite bag and on sale for $20!)

There is something about business attire that I love! I'm not sure if it's because I secretly love to learn about business and always dream of becoming an entrpreneur, or the fact that I have an obession with the show suits and I am double crushing on Harvery Spectar and Mike Ross, who BTW dress on point! The down side of business attire is that I often find it uncomfortable, and if you know me then you know I am all about comfort! I have a desk job so sitting all day in clothes that aren't comfortable is super irritating; I like to feel comfotabel at all times. I think a lot of clothing companies are starting to realize this and therefore are using materials that have more stretch to them (ha-liloo-yahh!). I get asked a lot where I shop for my work clothes and to be honest I don't have any specific place but here are my top 4 choices:

1. RW&CO- This would probably be my number one choice becasue they have such classy pieces and the quality is great.

2. Dynamite- I love dynamite because they are reasonable price wise and they are always up-to-date with new style trends.

3. Zara- What I love about Zara's is their stuff is very different. I find when I'm looking for something unique yet chic I can always find it here.

4. Aritzia- Okay lets be honest Artizia can be slighlty expensive BUT their pieces last FORVER and are so versatile. There isn't one piece that I have bought from here and havne't got my money's worth. I have shirts from 5 years ago and till this stay still wear constantly.

Love- When you sit beside someone doing nothing, yet you feel perfectly happy...

SHOP THIS LOOK: TOP (NEW FAVE!), JEGGINGS (SIMILAR), SHOES (SIMILAR), KINSLEY ARMELLE BRACELETS (USE PROMO CODE BEYOUTIFULSTEPH15OFFONE|TWO|THREE, WATCH, PURSE (SIMILAR)

Love is when you sit beside someone doing nothing, yet you feel perfectly happy...

By no means am I an expert on love, but I have had my heart broken a couple times and there are things that I've learned each time. I feel like I've come to appreciate the word 'love' a little more and I've come to realize that when referring to people the word 'love' shouldn't just be tossed around in conversations carelessly. I’ve learned that love is an immeasurable force that we can’t force. I do believe that love sometimes makes you do things that you thought once you might not ever do (whether good or bad) Putting negative aspects aside, what does it really mean to me love someone?

Like i said I'm no expert but this is what love means to me...

1. Love means accepting a person as a whole; for all their traits whether good or bad.

2. Love means supporting this person in anything and everything, even when you may not completely agree (when I say everything and anything I mean things that are realistic and legal. This does not include any sort of criminal act...I think you know where I'm going with this)

3. Love means being selfless. When you love someone it's not just about you anymore, you have to think about the other person and take them into consideration. This sometimes requires sacraficing other things in order to be with this person.

4. Love means being loyal. Not looking for something better or seeing what's out there. It means comitting to that person because you know they complete you (how cliche of me to say lol).

5. Love means doing things for a person just to make them smile. Not becasue you feel you have to but becasue you genuinly want to.

6. Love means going out of your way for that person even if it's not convinient for you. Love isn't always convinient but if you do truly care about a person you will make it convenient.

7. Love means being able to be yourself around that person with no shame.

8.  Love sometimes means waiting a long time for that person. Waiting for the timing to be right for the both of you.

9. Love means not needing constant contact, in person or via text, to feel secure. It means trusting them in every way possible.

10. Sometimes love means disappointment. It means broken hearts and red teary eyes. It means taking a shot on someone and being let down. It means learning the hard way that you can’t make someone love you.

11. Love means sticking by that persons side no matter how tough or stressful life gets, whether the issue has something to do with your relationship or whether its something outside the relationship.

What love doesn't mean is being a replica of another person, but rather being like a puzzle piece that fits perfectly together, because your traits complement each other to create better versions of you both.

What does love mean to you?

SIMPLICITY AT IT'S FINEST

SHOP THIS LOOK: DRESS (SIMILAR), SHOES (ON SALE! 31.49),  SUNGLASSES, WATCH (BEST SELLER), KINSLEY ARMELLE BRACELETS; USE CODE BEYOUTIFULSTEPH15OFF ONE|TWO (ON SALE $15.99)|THREE (ON SALE $18.99) , BELT (DIFFERENT LOOK BUT SUPER CUTE AND ON SALE $9.99)
I had my outfit all picked out this morning as I normally do the night before (I'm a little bit of an organize freak in real life), but when I turned on the news this morning I realized wearing pants on a day where there is a heat wave warning, probably isn't the greatest idea. Not to mention I woke up super late this morning! I was up late last night trying to book a flight to NYC. To make a long story short I was in one of those "PJ moods", meaning if I could go to work in my pj's I would! I had no idea what to wear...When this happens I usually aim towards a simple look. Sometimes simple looks can be the most sophisticated ones. I grabbed this shirt dress that was buried deep in my closet from last year and through it on. When I first put it on I looked like I was drowning in the dress and it looked super "boxy" which I'm not a huge fan of. To add shape I put on a simple black and gold belt and voila! adding shape to an outfit makes such a difference. Because the dress is so plain and simple I wanted to spice it up a little by wearing a statement shoe, so what better statement then these! And they are on SALE! Also super comfy, which is perfect for a day where you just want to feel comfortable but still well put together. For accessories I kept it simple with a gold watch and 3 of my most recent Kinsley Armelle purchases!

THAT TIME I HAD A QUARTER LIFE CRISIS FOR LIKE 4 MONTHS

In march I turned the big 2-5... Ever since I was little I wanted to be 25 years old...I'm still trying to figure out why I would want to be an adult, because being an adult requires adulting and as we all know adulting is hard! Nevertheless, besides wanting to be an adult, I wanted to be 25 because I thought by that age I would 'have it all'. What I mean by having it all is; having a job that I love, being married and starting a family. My parents married young and had my brother (the first born) at the age of 26! I wanted the same thing, but as I'm sure some of you can relate life doesn't always go as planned. When I turned 25 I told my mom 'Mother, I'm having a quarter life crisis'. A single 25 year old women, working towards her dreams. As much as I wish I had what I dreamed I would have when I was younger, I'm happy the way my life has played out and it wasn't until last week that I realized this. For the last 4 months I've been overthinking every decision I have made and thinking what if I would have done things differently, would I have had everything I ever wanted by the age of 25? The answer to my own question is; life is what it is and things aren't always going to go the way you planned. The important thing is to do whatever makes you happy and to work towards the things you want. I may not be married, I may not have a family but when the time is right it will happen. As for my career, I'm getting closer and closer to where I want to be. So I may not have it all right now at the age of 25, but one day I will and with that in mind I'm happy!

Saw it...loved it...found out it was on sale...stole my heart! That was the story of the purchase of this blazer. When I first saw it at Aritzia I thought for sure the price was going to be over what I was willing to spend, but when I saw a sale ticket and price I was like #WINNING! I love it because it is super unique, yet it goes with a lot of my current pieces in my wardrobe. Not to mention it can be worn in the fall ( I know don't mention fall!!) I checked online and they don't have many sizes left in this color scheme but they do have it in a black/grey color scheme. If they don't have your size online then I suggest going to an Aritzia store, a lot of the times they have it in the stores but not online!

Bedroom Remodelling

Happy Friday everyone! Thought I would do something different on the blog today. I am remodeling my room and I have been doing some inspiration browsing on Pinterest (literally could spend hours on Pinterest!) My current colour pallet in my room is white, grey and black, I still love this colour combo, but I feel I need a change! My new colour combo obsession is Pink, grey and gold, I find that these colours together are fun yet, elegant and feminine. The remodelling will start shortly and I have already bought some accessories to work around so stay tuned for bedroom updates! In the mean time I put together this inspiration collage of things I found!

DARLING; IF YOU DON'T FAIL YOU DON'T LEARN

SHOP SIMILAR LOOK: TOP, JEANS, SHOES (exact), HATWATCH, KINSLEY ARMELLE BRACELET (use code BEYOUTIFULSTEPH15OFF to get discount!), ALEX AND ANI BANGLES (exact)

I think everyone at some point in their life have experienced failure, I know I have MANY times! Being an athelete growing up I had a ton of times where I felt like a failure and just wanted to give up, but it taught me to push through and to always get back up! I found those past failures as a gymnast really helped when dealing with failure in other aspect of my life; whether it be something at work that I failed at or a failed relationship. Failure is a huge fear for a lot of people, but like a lot of other things in life, its part of life. It's just one of those things that no one wants to go through, but is necessary in order for us to learn and grow as a person. Although no one likes that feeling of failure it really doesn't have to be as daunting as most of us make it to be. I think if we learn how to handle ourselves when things don't go exactly go as planned, then failure can somewhat be turned into a positive thing. Here are some of the things I try to remember when I've failed at something in the past...

DON'T BEATING YOURSELF UP: Be kind to yourself, failure happens to even the best of us...Everybody fails!! Just because something didn't work out doesn't make you any less of a person. Being hard on yourself and dwelling on what happened, really won't help the situation. In fact it will actually make it harder to get past. We all want to succeed in everything we do but beating ourselves up if we don't is not the solution!

LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES: As much as people don't want to admit, failing is actually in a weird way a positive thing. There's no shame in failing, so use it as an opportunity to grow and better yourself. Instead of beating yourself up after failing, take the time to look at the situation and ask yourself- what went wrong? What can you change in the future? What can I do differently?

TAKE A BREAK: One thing I highly suggest after a huge failure is to give yourself a break so you can clear your head, and get a fresh look on things. I like to get away after a huge failure because I feel it's very therapeutic.

START FRESH: If you failed the first time and you are ready to give it another shot, make sure to give yourself a fresh start. Wipe the slate clean and don't hold onto past mistakes. If you start over but keep dwelling on your failures, you're never going to be able to move forward. Don't sabotage your fresh start with things that have happened in the past and can't be changed.

Picking yourself up after failure is very important and is something that no one really teaches you. I hope this post will help or motivate you all if you are currently going through failure, or the next time you are struggling with failure!
